Head's Welcome
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the staff, governors and children of
The aim of our website is to give you some information about our school, our aims and objectives and our activities. We feel that it is very important that the feeling and atmosphere of the school is welcoming and one of caring and sharing for each other. We offer education from foundation stage to year six in which we hope to both stretch the children to reach their full potential and also to enjoy their life in school.
We believe that for children to achieve the highest possible standards, not only in their work but in their attitudes to life and their future as good citizens, it is necessary for them to be taught social skills and positive attitudes. We also believe that it is essential for staff who work with the children, to be lifelong learners and this is why we are very committed to our professional development and achievement.
We aspire to a holistic curriculum, which isbased on first hand experience. Every half term the children experience an educational visit (or visitor) as part of their topic. We offer a Breakfast Club each morning on the school site. We have a wide variety of extra curricular clubs availableto the children. We have clubs in music and drama, gymnastics, gardening, computers and seasonal sports, as well as gifted and talented clubs in mathematics and art. Information about these are included in other parts of the website.
At lunchtime a wide variety of playground equipment is available as well as a large football area and tyre park. We hold several external accreditations of which we are very proud–Artsmark Gold–2005; Basic Skills Quality Mark–2005; Investors in People–2006; Activemark-2003; Healthy Schools Award–2004.
